The fanless design of this system contributes to increased reliability and reduced maintenance costs. By eliminating moving parts like fans, the system is less susceptible to dust and mechanical failures, leading to a longer lifespan and decreased downtime. This translates to significant cost savings over the system’s operational life, making it a particularly attractive option for demanding and continuous-operation environments.
The ICOMF103 fanless system is built around the 14th, 13th, and 12th generation Intel® LGA 1700 socket processor family, supporting processors with a TDP of up to 35W. This includes a range of powerful options, from the Intel® Core™ i9 down to the efficient Intel® Celeron® G6900TE. The system utilises the Intel® H610 chipset and features two SO-DIMM sockets for DDR5-5600 memory, supporting a maximum of 64GB in a dual-channel configuration. The AMI Aptio 5.x (UEFI) BIOS provides a suite of features including Recovery BIOS, SM-BIOS (DMI), BIOS and CPU Microcode Update, Quick Boot, and support for S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology)
For storage, the unit has two internal 2.5″ HDD/SSD bays and two 2.5″ SATA mobile trays. The motherboard includes an M.2 2230 slot (Key-M, Gen 4, PCIe/NVME SSD modules) for additional high-speed storage. Expansion is possible with an optional low profile PCI-E slot x1 (8X) and an M.2 2230 slot (Key-E) for WLAN/Bluetooth modules, with optional high-quality external Wi-Fi antennas and connectors available.
Connectivity is provided by rear I/O ports that include 2 x GbE (RJ-45), 1 x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, 2 x USB 2.0, 1 x HDMI, 1 x DP++, and 2 x audio. The front chassis provides further connectivity with 2 x USB 3.2, 2 x USB 2.0, and 2 x mobile SSD trays. The system is equipped with a watchdog timer and offers various system control features such as Recovery BIOS, system and BIOS passwords, boot sequence control, and Intel integrated TPM V2.0. Power is supplied via an external 19-24 V DC-in or an internal 12 V/19-24 V DC-in. The integrated Intel® UHD Graphics 7xx delivers display output through 1x Display Port V1.4a, 1x HDMI V2.0b, and dual-channel (24bit) LVDS. Audio is managed by the Realtek ALC256 High Definition Audio Codec, with support for 2W@4Ohm stereo speakers and line-in/line-out. The Realtek RTL8111E and Intel® i219LM Gigabit Ethernet controllers provide robust networking capabilities, including Wake-on-LAN (WoL) and PXE support. The system supports Windows 10, Windows 11, and Linux operating systems. An optional 1U rackmount front panel is available.
