Company History
The ICL Industrial Computers history goes back to 1992 when the Company was originally formed under the name of MAP Micro.
Throughout the years the companies name changed from MAP Micro, TriMap International, I-Bus, I-Bus/Phoenix and Industrial Computers Limited.
In November 2017, we were delighted to announce that Industrial Computers Ltd had become part of Kontron UK Ltd, who are part of the Kontron AG group of companies, an exciting opportunity that has resulted in a significantly expanded range of products and solutions for the UK high reliability systems market.
We have experience of providing industrial computer systems to a range of industries, including transport, healthcare, military systems, communications, energy, automation, measurement and more.

We also provide solutions from COTS (Commercial-Off-The-Shelf) through to Full Ground-Up design services enabling our customers to have a “one-stop” provider for all of their system requirements.
With unique production, design & test facilities, an in-house thermal test chamber that is often used by our customers to test their own products, we build systems that are reliable, consistent and have the longevity of supply required, thereby helping our customers to reduce their total cost of ownership.
We fully understand the importance of reliability, revision control and that our customers need repeatability in the systems they purchase and we provide this by using an enterprise-class ERP system that allows customers to order as revision controlled single level part numbers. Each order is then individually assigned a unique reference number that is fully traceable to ensure consistency.
In 2018 Industrial Computers and Kontron UK Ltd combined into a new purpose built facility in Easthampnett, West Sussex. This move brings the two companies together and provides expanded areas for production, support and logistics.

Integration and Design
You specify – We integrate.
We’re experts in providing a revision-controlled integration service, with custom designs and builds using commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) or fully custom components. You tell us the specification that you need, we’ll build it, test it and deliver it to you – the same build every time. We’ll even install and configure your software if you so wish.
You set the build & test process – We implement it.
We have a wealth of experience in building and testing custom computers. But if you have some specific instructions about how you would like your computers built and tested, you can define that process and we will work with it. We will turn your ideas or build documentation into a fully revision-controlled document which is used whenever we build your computers.
You choose the components – We assemble.
Want to source some of the components yourself, and free-issue them to us? That’s not a problem. You can tell us exactly which components you’d like in your custom-built Industrial or Military PC, and either have us source them for you, or source them yourself and free-issue to us.
Your logo, your brand – Your product.
Do you resell computers as part of your own product or system? Maybe you sell a customised and configured PC as your own stand-alone product? Then you probably want the computer to appear as one of your own products. We offer a full custom branding service – your own company name or logo can be applied to the computers that we build, either silk-screen painted or stick-on.
