> INTEGRATION / MANUFACTURE |
At Industrial Computers we fully configure and integrate the majority of products we ship.
On our site you won’t find pre-configured systems but a list of components we use to build your system.
Our highly experienced Sales Engineers can help you define the best system for your application. Whilst we have a number of high volume customers we also ship as little as one system a quarter to others. All follow the same process in our factory.
We will help you: |
- Clarify the application and environmental requirements
- Select the appropriate Chassis
- Define the Hardware
- Select the best power supply
- Add any customer specific / free issue hardware
|
- Specify the operating system
- Define any colour choices / logos required for the product
- Load and test your application software
- Agree the environmental and safety requirements
-
Confirm any specific testing requirements

> Ordering
|
Once the system has been defined, our customers can order using a single part number of their choice, greatly reducing the complexity of the purchase order and simplifying the whole process. This relates to a revision controlled bill of materials at Industrial Computers. |
> Obsolescence |
When a component becomes obsolete, we advise the customer in advance and provide a time frame for testing of the replacement prior to incorporating it into the system and updating the revision number.
|
> Change Management |
The management of change is critical to most of our customers who require the same product to be delivered over an extended period of time. As a member of the Intel embedded group we are able to offer long life cycles on what would normally be considered an obsolete product.
Typically our range of Industrial Motherboards and Single board computers are available for between five and seven years.
|
> Traceability |
As we bar code all components used in our systems, we are able to advise customers on the status of a product in the field (from the chassis serial number or any serial number used in the chassis).
Phone us with a serial number and within minutes we can tell you about the full build, revision and specification of that system.
Customers find this very useful as it reduces the amount of time and effort they need to spend on recording information about a product sold. Service engineers on the other hand can be fully informed in advance of a customer call out or repair being returned.
